Hi I’m Claire, Founder of The Gilded Nest

I’ve always had a love for home crafts and creating beautiful things by hand. About 15 years ago, I discovered decoupage and began using it for personal projects, decorating little keepsakes and pieces for around the house. I instantly fell in love with the process and how something simple could be transformed into something truly special.

The Gilded Nest began in 2024, after I made a collection of Christmas ornaments that sparked an idea: what if I could share these pieces with others? What started as a creative outlet quickly became a small business filled with heart, intention, and a love for classic design.

Each item I make, from trinket dishes and napkin rings to coasters and seasonal ornaments ,is something I’d want in my own home. I choose every pattern and detail with care, always aiming to create pieces that feel timeless, thoughtful, and a little bit luxurious.

To me, The Gilded Nest is about adding a touch of beauty and warmth to your space, with items made to be cherished,
gifted, and enjoyed.

Thanks so much for visiting. I’m so glad you’re here.

Sustainability & Sourcing

Creating beautifully crafted pieces also means being thoughtful about where our materials come from, and how we care for the plant in the process.

At The Gilded Nest, sustainability isn’t a marketing term, it’s quiet, everyday commitment. From the packaging you receive to the materials I use; I’m always working to make choices that are as kind to the environment as the are beautiful in your home.

Thoughtful Material Sourcing
The heart of The Gilded Nest lies in the shells I use, and many of those are sourced from along the beautiful South Coast of England. There’s something deeply meaningful about working with natural materials gathered close to home, and I love knowing each shell has its own unique story. Not every material I use is locally sourced, but it’s part of my ongoing mission to choose suppliers as close to the UK as possible. It’s not always possible, but I’m committed to moving closer to that goal with every collection Icreate.

Responsible Packaging
All orders are shipped in recyclable packaging and most materials are either sustainably sourced or made from recycled content. I partner with a packaging company that shares my values: keeping things simple, minimal, and waste-conscious without compromising on presentation.

Giving Back Through Trees
Some materials like speciality adhesives or protective coasting don’t yet have sustainable alternatives that meet the quality I need. So, to help balance the impact, I will be planting trees each year through trusted reforestation initiatives. It’s one small way of giving back, while continuing to seek better options in the future.

Our History

Hello, I’m Claire, the maker and founder of The Gilded Nest — a small home studio based in Hampshire, England.
This little nest was born from a love of nature, crafting, and the simple beauty of handmade things. I gather inspiration from the shoreline, wildflowers, weathered wood, and the quiet charm of upcycled treasures.
Each piece is made slowly and intentionally — using repurposed materials wherever I can, and always with sustainability in mind. From recycled packaging to my partnership with tree-planting initiatives, my mission is to create beautiful things that are gentle on the Earth.
Thank you for supporting a handmade, mindful way of decorating and gifting.
